Tara M. C. Churchill completed a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design at Endicott College in 2009. Her exploration of low-environmental-impact design and community spaces led to her interest in development of this research facility for climate change.
Toolik Climate Change Research Community exposes scientific research to the world through architecture that allows research scientists to inhabit and explore remote cold climate ecosystems. The project creates a physically and psychologically safe interior environment for research at the intersection of Alaska’s beautiful Brooks Mountains, Toolik Lake and the northern open tundra.
